Loft conversions in Chippenham
Chippenham is Wiltshire's third largest town and has expanded rapidly in recent decades - the population grew by 11% between 1991 and 2001 alone.
Today the town is both a thriving business centre in its own right, and also a 'commuter zone' for people who work in London and Bristol but prefer life outside of the city. Chippenham offers convenient road and rail access to the South West, Wales, the Midlands, London and the South East.
In appearance Chippenham seems to be a fairly modern town, but it is thought that there has been a settlement here since before Roman times. The town proper is thought to have been founded by the Saxons around the year 600.
The annual Chippenham Folk Festival has become a major event - indeed it is now one of the largest community events in the country. Despite its size, the festival still retains its 'village' atmosphere.
