All of the tradesman were excellent and we were so impressed with the co-ordination of their services. There are a few people however that we wanted to specifically name as people who stood out. Dan and John were a pleasure to have on sight – they were timely and hardworking. Most notably however they were so personable, polite and considerate of our house and family. Our little girl Honor took a real shine to John and was most upset when she realised he wasn’t coming back.

The other person we wanted to acknowledge was Rich the carpenter. Another individual who was highly skilled at his job, but able to engage with us as clients. Again a pleasure to have working in our house.

I wanted to write and say how delighted we are with the conversion. We were very pleased with how quickly the work the work was done, and how efficient the team of carpenters, plumbers and electricians were. They also kept everything as clean and tidy as they could. I am just emailing to say how very pleased we are with our new loft bedroom that you did for us, it is now all carpeted and decorated and my oldest son is now in there and is absolutely thrilled with his new bedroom as are we.

From initial contact with yourselves Neil came out and planned the loft for us he listened to exactly what I wanted and did not try to sell me bits I did not require or give me the hard sell which was lovely. When we had decided to go ahead the surveyors came out and must have measured every part of my house they were also very polite and were able to answer all my questions.

Then the scaffolding arrived and we were looking forward to the work but a little apprehensive as we had never had anybody in to do major building work on our house before but as soon as Jon and Dan the first fix team arrived we were put at ease they were so polite told us exactly what they would be doing that day. This continued everyday throughout the build they even took pictures of the work as it went along, they worked at a rate of knots and kept the house very clean and tidy for the duration we found it very strange when they had gone.

Throughout the build George has been excellent as well overseeing the work and even arranging for the neighbour to move their water tank out of our loft space he even managed to do this with out upsetting the neighbour concerned.

The plasterers, the electricians and the plumbers all worked to the same very high standards causing very minimal disruption to the rest of the house. The Second fit team also arrived on time everyday and worked very hard but to the highest of standards consulting us every step of the way and giving us different options for example how high did I want my shelves so that they fitted my sons books.

My friends have been around to see the new bedroom and were amazed how lovely it is and are now very envious.

I cannot thank all at Attic life enough for all their hard work and dedication to their jobs which they take pride in and it really shows. The difference it has made to my family's life having the extra space is immense and to us the new bedroom is worth it weight in gold. WELL DONE ATTIC LIFE and I wont have any problems in recommending you in the future.

Our conversion by Attic Life has exceeded our expectations and we are thrilled with the result which has given us a master bedroom with en-suite and a second bedroom/dressing room.

Neil’s expertise and creativity was apparent from the first meeting when after the initial check of the loft space he sat down to draw his draft plan which was based on my ‘vision’. He was the only person to do this and this level of service and attention to detail was maintained throughout. Other Companies just sent a bland, uninspiring drawing through the post and hoped for the best! We then went through a period where Neil and the other guys couldn’t have been more helpful in terms of tweaking the plans, giving us ideas and advising us on the technical aspect.

The structural team were fantastic. Led by Josh they arrived on time (despite a long journey to SP10), worked incredibly hard, cleared up every day and willingly took time out to show us progress and answer our questions. All of them had impeccable manners and we had no concerns about having any of them in our house as they were polite and respectful at all times. Everyone else involved – the plumbers, electricians, plasterers, carpenter, tiler and roofer had a similar, strong work ethic and nothing was too much bother.

We also took the opportunity to have some other work done including the kitchen and dining room knocked into one, the existing staircase and doors to match the new ones, a roof overhaul and our existing bathrooms replaced. Though it was a lot of disruption, we were glad we used Attic Life for this work too as it meant that the same guys were around and the work was managed as one project.

Attic Life is a great Company with strong values and all of the employees do their utmost to work together as a team to make it as smooth and unobtrusive as possible. The whole experience from start to finish was excellent and the cost was competitive with the reassurance that it was a fixed price. All of the contractors they use rate them as the best loft conversion Company they know of in terms of the finish and standard they achieve. The end result for us is a fantastic additional living space that blends perfectly into our property; in fact it’s difficult to imagine what it was like before!

We wanted to write and say thank you to you and the whole team at Attic Life for doing such a great job on our loft conversion.

We originally chose Attic Life from the five firms that we asked to quote because Neil listened to what we said we wanted and then designed a layout which maximised the space available whilst retaining the character of the house both internally and externally. We had a preconceived idea of how the space might be used and all of the other firms just prepared a design around that. In contrast Neil listened to what we wanted to end up with, measured the space and then produced two options for us to consider, both of which were very different to our original ideas but which we could immediately see had real benefits.

The first fix team led by Will were incredibly efficient and worked exceptionally hard - they were a pleasure to have in and around the house. Will encouraged us to go up to see how the build was progressing and it is obvious he took great pride in his team's work. Steve carried out the second fix carpentry to an extremely high standard and again was a pleasure to have in the house. All of the trades were great and were seamlessly co-ordinated by Attic Life. A special mention has to go to the plumbers who were always cheerful and friendly despite having to work long days battling the house's quirky plumbing!

We appreciated the certainty of the fixed price quote and felt that the extra work we asked you to do was quoted for in a very fair and transparent manner. We were especially grateful that you were happy to arrange for your plasterer to come back to do a small repair job to our existing hallway ceiling which has allowed us to finish the post-build redecoration.

Finally we would like to thank George personally for everything he has done both during and after the build. We think George is Attic Life's greatest asset as his "can do" friendly and responsive approach proved invaluable. When problems did arise they were dealt with quickly and efficiently and with a minimum of fuss.

We would just like to say how pleased we were with the work Attic Life did to convert our attic space into a lovely large bedroom with a separate walk-in wardrobe and wet room. From the initial consultation through to the final finishing pieces we were thoroughly impressed with the speed and professionalism of everyone at Attic Life. When we were originally quoted a 7 week conversion timescale during the Christmas period we couldn't quite believe this would be possible. True to your word, our attic was finished in 7 weeks even though we had heavy snowfall! We have had quite a lot of work done to our house during the past 5 years and your fitters have been the most courteous, considerate, tidy and polite we've known. Everyone who has seen the attic since it was finished has been really impressed.

I remember taking references from two couples locally before we chose Attic Life and asked them both one question. If there was one thing they disliked about the work Attic Life had done, what was it? Neither had a negative comment other than to say they'd employ painters next time (which we now can relate to)!

We just wanted to let you know how delighted we are with our amazing loft conversion! We had no idea what to expect but the whole project has gone without a hitch and we can't praise you and your team highly enough. Jake and Callum worked so hard and were a pleasure to have around. Rich was brilliant and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. The plastering is incredible - we love the curves and the bathroom is perfect - such a professional job.

We just wanted to say a massive thank you to Attic Life for our lovely loft! We have finally finished decorating and it looks beautiful, we are so pleased at the difference it has made to our house.

We chose Attic Life as Neil was so helpful and informative in our first meeting and the fact he came up with a rough sketch at the first meeting showed what could be achieved in our budget. Having never had building work done before and aware of so many horror stories about builders we were a bit nervous about the process. However we had no need to be. From beginning to end the process was as stress free as possible, we were kept informed at every stage as to what was happening and what was planned for the next few days. The materials were well stored and everything was kept clean and tidy. Any concerns or comments we did have were voiced to George and taken on board. A massive THANK YOU has to go to John and Martin who worked extremely hard in the first few weeks and were always friendly and polite and we were comfortable with them in our home which was extremely important with 2 young children. We missed them when they'd gone! In fact my 2 year old sometimes still asks where John and "Hartin" are!! Nothing was too much trouble for Attic Life and it is rare nowadays, sadly, to find such great customer service and hard workers. The standard of workmanship was very high and the team were all very professional. First of all we would like to thank you for keeping us fully informed throughout the process of our loft conversion. We are absolutely delighted with the finished room.

We arranged for three companies to give us quotations. Attic Life was chosen because of the coverage of your South West Regional Winner of the Federation of Master Builder of the Year Award in the local journal; the professionalism with which the initial meetings was conducted; the speed with which we received detailed plans; and the obvious knowledge and experience of the people in charge.

The 'first fit' duo of Jake and Dan were with us for about three weeks. Their punctuality, politeness and professionalism impressed us. More than that though we were pleased with the skill they showed in solving any problem they encountered. Each loft conversion is unique as they said, but they competently worked through any obstacles they came up against. At the end of each day, they not only tided up and vacuumed, but they took the time to explain what they had done and what they were going on to do. They were exceptionally hard working, genuine, thoughtful craftsmen.

We were also impressed that the materials needed were always 'on site' at the correct time, and that the follow up teams of electricians, plumbers and plasterers were also on site with no delays or gaps in time. The whole experience worked seamlessly and caused us no concerns at all. George was always available to talk to if needed and his visits to the work in progress were welcomed.

The second fit, done by Richard, lived up to expectations. You clearly set yourselves high standards and your workforce fulfils your expectations. Richard was another highly skilled craftsman and he was also prepared to 'go the extra mile' to ensure that the finished look matched the rest of the existing landing. As with the entire workforce, he tidied up both days he was here, and ensured that the outside of the house where scaffolding, skip and materials had been was left as they had found it before the work had began.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Attic Life to our neighbours and friends.

We just wanted to say how pleased we are with our attic conversion, it has given us a new bedroom with an en-suite, but we still have enough storage room in the eaves for all the essentials. The workmen that built the conversion were fantastic, they arrived everyday at 8am on the dot. They finished at 5pm everyday and always left the site clean and tidy. Our elderly neighbour (who has always managed to find some issue to complain about with all our other building work) has been unable to find fault! In fact she commented on how polite the workmen were and how nice the finished conversion is. This is just a quick line to thank you and your staff for a first class attic conversion at Little Ashton House. The whole process was managed and carried out extremely well from start to finish despite the cold and bad weather experienced!

We were particularly impressed with all your staff, the quality of their work and the way in which they handled everything from receiving deliveries, being very neat and tidy, and keeping us informed of progress.

Even where I was doubtful about something, Attic Life delivered. The use of a specialised crane to navigate our tight driveway was amazing and the steel girders were manoeuvred into the loft without a hitch.

We are writing to offer our profound thanks to you and to your chaps for the all the work completed to our conversion.

One always worries when employing a builder after watching horror stories on TV. We are very pleased indeed to be able to confirm to you and to everyone we speak to, for that matter, that your firm is the very antithesis of the image of the “Rogue Builder” that the media delights in portraying. From the very first contact with you – then the production of the initial drawings, through to explaining the process and thence onto the actual work – to completion our experience has been of the highest order. All of your chaps are polite, hard working and clear up after themselves each evening. Whilst any building work inside a home brings a certain amount of chaos, you and your chaps kept this to an absolute minimum. Whilst we might feel inclined to single out one or two for special thanks, the truth is that without exception, every single one of the chaps has been excellent and have all been a credit to you and to your firm.

We now have a beautiful attic room with en-suite with the fabulous view. We are happy to report that the room is fully decorated and carpeted and once we have the furniture in place, we very much look forward to enjoying our new room.

As a final note, many thanks indeed for sending your man back to help with getting the bed head board into the room – this will teach us to buy such a large headboard! As ever, your chap went above the call of duty and upon noticing that the carpet we chose is quite thick, recognised that the doors would need to be altered very slightly to ensure their smooth operation and he just took them off and shaved off the bottom. This, to me, is possibly the most positive endorsement we can offer: Even after the job has been signed off and paid for, you, your company and your men continue to recognise the need of the customer and offer service of the very highest order over and above the level expected.

We would like to express our thanks to Attic Life and all its employees for carrying out our loft conversion so efficiently and to such a high standard. We were particularly impressed with the attitude and helpfulness of all the workers as it made a potentially stressful conversion into a pleasurable experience. I must also say how I appreciated the efficient communications by email, as I was away for most of the time and being regularly consulted helped to make it easier for Mandy. From the outset the whole Attic Life team were very flexible and informative about how we could perfect our design to exactly suit our needs. This took some time but throughout everyone was very supportive of the process, despite the difficult communication issues with me in Nepal.

In particular George was very helpful with advice on changes or adjustments we wanted to make and how to realise our ideas, as well as helping us to get the best price for additional work and materials. He was never too busy to respond to our queries and managed the whole project most efficiently. We must also mention Jim and Neil who started the work. They were very cheerful and worked incredibly hard. Richard was our second fixer and we really appreciated his attention to detail and the care he put into all the jobs he did. Our finished product is very neat and looks great, thanks in a large part to him. In fact all the Attic Life employees, Dave and Simon the plumbers, Lewis and Chris the electricians and Jody and Dan the plasterers were extremely courteous and immediately put you at your ease; even our children really enjoyed their presence. It was fun to see the boys each day and be shown the rapid progress they were making. We felt completely comfortable leaving everybody to work in the house on their own and found them all to be extremely professional and very likeable people.

We are very happy with the final result and are looking forward to finishing the decorations. We will have no hesitation in recommending Attic Life to friends who are interested in converting their lofts, and indeed have already done so. Keep up the good work!

We are writing to tell you how delighted we are with the loft conversion that Attic Life completed in August. We have finished decorating the loft, which looks stunning with a solid oak floor. The hallway is nearly done; the stair carpet is being fitted in December. You are more than welcome to come and take photographs when this has been done.

Overall, the service received from Attic Life was absolutely fantastic:

The job was completed on time and on budget. All the workmen, including plasterers, electricians, plumbers, tilers etc were courteous, friendly and no trouble at all to have working on our home. We were very impressed that they stayed late some evening to get certain tasks done. Particular thanks must go to Justin and his team of builders who did the initial structural work.

We were really pleased with the way in which you kept us informed throughout and were available to discuss aspects of the work as the job progressed . We would also like to thank you for sorting out our rather precarious front bay window/bedroom ceiling and getting some re-pointing work done for us.

The quality of all aspects of the workmanship, from the underlying structural work to the finishing touches, is second on none. Several friends and family members have commented how 'Solid' the conversion feels and how well it blends in with the rest of the house. The subtle touches, such as matching the newel posts/spindles to the existing stairs, really do make a big difference. The curves in the plasterwork are extremely well done and add a really smooth, organic quality to the finish. Several people have commented how much lighter it makes the upstairs hallway and how light and spacious the loft space is. Now we've moved into the loft, it's like sleeping in a posh hotel!

Having seen a feature on Attic Life in an addition of the Bath Chronicle last year and armed with a friends recommendation, we contacted Attic Life. We found the whole process very easy, George project managed the loft conversion so we didn't have to deal with anyone but him, which was great. Just to say thank you so much for the fantastic work undertaken during our loft conversion. From my initial phone call until completion, Attic Life presented scrupulous attention to detail and maintained an exemplary level of customer care in every respect.

As a Project Manager George was attentive and ensured all our questions were addressed. Issues that arose were resolved swiftly and in particular he was always available to help either in person or on the end of a phone.

The first fix team were second to none and what fabulous teamwork; polite, courteous and a pleasure to welcome into our home. Jim was extremely professional and worked to such a high level of specification. We do miss having him around! Nick has particular qualities that complimented working alongside Jim. He worked intensively under instruction from Jim and nothing was too much to ask for. He is an asset to the team.

Richard was equally hard working in every respect and his carpentry skill work is fabulous. Once again he was polite ensuring each and every detail was adhered to.

Dave and his plumbing team were great, once again extremely high standards of work, time keeping and respect. The kittens particularly enjoyed the plumbing team! The same can be said of Lewis and his team who were patient, obliging and neat in there work.

Jodie and his team have also perfected the plastering work. Their finished work is highly professional, we are thrilled with the end result.

We would like to express our thanks for such a fantastic job done by the team. Right from the outset of yourself and George coming to measure and price the job, all the way through to George removing the remaining rubbish from the garden, we found everybody involved to be professional, courteous and committed to doing a quality job as efficiently as possible.

In addition, we were always kept informed of what was happening and when, and there was plenty of opportunity to have our input on the finer details of the project without being made to feel that we were being fussy or an inconvenience.

We feel a special mention should be given to Will who was, without exception, punctual, polite, hard working, co-operative, and very clean and tidy, always clearing up at the end of the day.

We are extremely proud of what was been achieved from a previous ‘dead space’, every visitor to the house has been subjected to a guided tour, after which everybody has commented on what a clever use of space it is. We have worked with many builders over time but this is the best managed build in our experience. Each day we knew who to expect and what was to be done. The team were courteous, helpful and extremely professional. The build was expertly executed and attention to detail rigidly executed.

We have found by bitter experience it pays to use a specialist and Attic life is truly a specialist in their field. We would have no hesitation in recommending them to our friends. Our attic was skilfully converted to two bedrooms and one on suite in just 7 weeks exactly, from materials arriving to the last traces removed from site and final inspection. The Team worked together each with their specialist skills and the treated our house as our home and cleaned up every evening before they left. Their efforts went over and above our expectations.

We wanted to tell you what a great job we think you did. All the tradesmen involved in the conversion (plumber, electrician, carpenter, plasterers and builders) were totally professional throughout, reliably starting work on time and to schedule in each part of the project (this was even remarked upon by some of our neighbours!). All involved were friendly and courteous, taking care to shut doors (to keep dust out and our cats in!) and keep things as tidy and respectable as possible.

The whole project was overseen well and we felt that we were kept in the loop about all decisions and we were able to make some small adjustments and changes during the process too. All our questions and concerns, however small, were listened to and answered clearly and patiently.

The quality of the work done was also to a very high standard and we felt that you often went the extra mile to make sure that the things we wanted done were done as we wanted.
